Day 1: Introduction

Our names are Matthew and Sophie,

We have two children, Gracie (16 months) and James (4months).

We decided to start keeping this blog as a reminder of just how much fun it is to be a parent.
We know from personal experience how easy it is to get caught up in the tantrums and the hustle and bustle of each day and not really stop to notice the joy that flows through it all. We want to encourage those around us.
Our goal is to post at least one positive thing per day, anything from baby's first steps to learning to ride a bike. It may even be, we are just thankful we all woke up under the same roof together or a fun book we read.

Day 1:

Today's positive experiences were

S: 1. First game played with both children: Tea party. James in his bouncy seat, Bay (our dog) dutifully at his side, Gracie pouring the tea and me sat grinning like a fool in the middle of it all.

M: 2.We started a routine about a week ago.
When I get home from work, we take the kids and the dog for a walk around the lake in our local park (everyday except Fridays). We get the exercise we need and its a great way to introduce the kids to nature. It's also relaxing so by the time we get home it's bath, milk, story and straight to bed.

S: 3. We just started 2 days ago reading my favorite series of stories from my childhood. "The Sophie Stories" by Dick king Smith. There is something kind of nostalgic about this for me. I also love the chance it gives the four of us to relax and be together.

Well, we think this is a good start. Feel free to leave us comments on some of the great things you guys have done today! We are always looking for ideas... We are still pretty new at all this!

Good Night
