Day 197: Friday Night Lights.

Today hasn't been a terribly busy day, we took it easy to make sure Gracie was feeling better. James has had lots of smiles to give out today :)

Today's Positives.

1. When I went in to get the kids out of bed Gracie would not leave the room til I had James in my arms. She started walking out then turned, put her arms in the air and said "Where's James"

2. Gracie grabbed mummies hands and started dancing with her.

3. James and Gracie had lots of fun being tickled and having raspberries blown on their bellies.

4. James held up our red ball and said "Ball"! He is talking so much already.

5. Gracie likes to act like she is sleeping then peeks out to see if we are looking. Once she sees us looking she breaks out into laughter!

6. James was trying to steal Gracie's blanket so I took her to get one of James blankets. She proceeded to take it to him and wrap him up in it. They had lots of fun playing together with them.

All in all its been a fun day! I hope everyone has a goodnight.

Day 196: Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

We started today off by going out and getting bread for a toast festival! We let Gracie and James both eat on the floor next to each other and they both had huge grins on their faces. We stayed in all day and had a great time playing!

Today's Positives.

1. Gracie kept giving James hugs this morning and every time she hears him wake up she yells "IT'S JAY-JAY!"

2. When Gracie and James were eating their toast I looked over and saw them both sharing their toast with each other.

3. Both of the kids had some Halloween candy. James got quite upset when he realized he had eaten the last Smartie!

4. When we went to the store for bread, Gracie stopped in front of one of the workers and just stared. At first she thought it was cute but after 30 seconds I think she got scared and Gracie started laughing!

Well that's about it for today, Gracie has been a little sick so hopefully she will be feeling better in the morning.

Hope everyone has a good night!

Day 193: Our Weekend

Today has been a nice day with the family. We played a lot and watched some veggietales. It was a good way to kick of our weekend!

Today's Positives.

1. Gracie grabbed a movie out and came up to us saying "moomies" lol. I love how she pronounces words!

2. Gracie and Mummy took a walk together to get the mail and saw a chihuahua puppy and Gracie was laughing and smiling saying "Doggy, Doggy"!

3. James took a few steps on his own, he is getting so big!

4. While Gracie and mummy went to get the mail, James and I had a great time playing together.

5. Gracie took her baby doll to the window and was pointing and showing her things outside.

6. James would take a little sip of juice then hold it up to mummy trying to share with her.

7: We put on backyardigans and the kids immediately both started dancing. James likes to bend his knees and bounce up and down, while Gracie is more, throw your arms in the air like you don't care.

Well it has been a great day, I hope everyone else had a good day as well.

Goodnight,
Matt and Sophie

Day 190: Thanksgiving!

Today has been wonderful!

Today's positives:

1: We went over to Nana's for thanksgiving. We also celebrated Gracie and James up coming birthdays because Auntie Shay and the boys are going out of town!

2: James seemed to enjoy his first thanksgiving meal. He ate as much turkey as he could. Gracie enjoyed being fed by Aunt Carrie :)

3: I stayed up last night making cupcakes for the babies instead of a birthday cake. I got them a number candle for each of their cakes. James went first, he was very cautious at first, then he picked up his cake and squeezed it through his fingers and ate it up. Gracie nibbled at her cake dainty like a lady. It was lovely. Gracie kept calling them "cake cakes"

4: Next we opened presents. Gracie was so excited to get a Veggie tales birthday card. When she opened her princess castle from Auntie Shay she said "woooweee". James also loved his train set. He didn't quite understand how to run the train around the tracks but he enjoyed waving the pieces around. They also got some lovely new clothes. Thank you everyone!

5: The babies really enjoyed each others company playing. Cousin L even got in on the action. They loved pulling all the Tupperware off of the shelves.

6: Gracie helped Auntie Shay bathe Cousin L after he had his cupcake. Then while nobody was looking she climbed in to the tub with her clothes on! Thankfully she had some new Pj's to put on!

7: Cousin Stacey got some lovely pictures of the kids. I can't wait to see them!! I feel so blessed that she will share her talent with us :)

8: Aunt Carrie helped me put the babies in the van when it was time to go home. James waved and said "bye" for the first time.

9: Gracie didn't even wake up when I carried her up to bed. James was not far behind her.

I just finished putting together Gracie's princess castle. I am so excited to see her face in the morning. I am sure she is going to play with it all day!

I hope you all had a wonderful day. Thank you to everyone who shared such a lovely thanksgiving with us.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Day 188: Latest Creation!

Today Matt and I made Gracie a dolls wardrobe, for the clothes my Grandma is knitting for her. I am so excited! My Grandma made all my dolls clothes when I was little and I loved them.

We used a super cheap shelving unit with the top shelf taken out. We left the bottom one in to give her a space to put shoes, hats and other doll accessories! Then we used shower rod holders to fix in a piece of dowel to hang the clothes on. Matt used paint left over from painting the kids nursery to pretty it up a little.

Gracie picked a yellow fabric with lady bugs on it to make the curtains. After I had run my sewing machine over them we used red thumb tacks to attach them. We then used ribbon to tie them back with and small open cup hooks to keep them in place.

It really only took us an hour to put together. and although Gracie is not quite sure what it's for yet she was very excited when we showed it to her!!

Apart from that today was pretty quiet. The kids got to hang out with their cousins while Auntie Shay and I went out and ran an errand.
Daddy made french toast for breakfast, which Gracie ate 3 pieces off! Oh and they got to skype with Auntie Sam and Chloe.

Hope you guys all had a good day!

Goodnight

Day 186: Wrapping Day

Today's positives:

1: Gracie wrapped her present to her brother today. She had a great time. First she picked out what she wanted to give him from the things we had bought, only she chose the thing she would most like to play with and was quite upset when we tried to cover it in paper. In the end we had to switch to the thing she was least interested in. I covered it and she put on the tape. The tape has no particular rhyme or reason but is doing its job nicely. Then she took a silver sharpie and wrote her Christmas scribble sentiments on it. After she was finished she clapped her hands together, turned to her Daddy and said "I'm happy!". It went quite well and was fun!

2: James has discovered his love of reggae music. Definitely a Florida boy!

3: Gracie was messing with the laundry and all I could hear was "Another pile of clothes". Finally someone who understands how I feel lol!!

Okay I will blog more tomorrow.

Day 185: Twinkies

Not really had anything happen today.

Today's positives:

1: Went and finished up a few last minute Christmas things. Both the kids where very well behaved. Gracie carried her Tinkerbell purse the whole time. I also got them an apple juice to share, which they thought was brilliant!

2: Both the kids ate SO much pasta for lunch, A dish they are normally loathed to eat a few bites of lol. Gracie ate mine and hers!

3: Glad to see James has been feeling better today.

That's about it really. Not unpleasant. Just very quiet!

Day 184: Sewing

Today I managed to make my first wearable item of clothing for Gracie!! It's just a little t-shirt and could use some work here and there but i'm feeling quite proud of it :D

Today's positives:

1: James said "Daddy" today.

2: Gracie and I got to cuddle up on the sofa and read stories together. I love having some time just us girls.

3:  Gracie had a great time playing ball with Daddy and I this afternoon. She thought it was very funny.

4: James has been a little off color today, which is never a good thing but it did mean I got a lovely long cuddle :)

I have had quite a lot to do today so I didn't get to spend as much time with the babies. I am thinking tomorrow will be all about them though :)

Well that's it for today !

Day 183: Dance Fever

Today I broke out my sewing machine, in a fit of inspiration and I've started a project. I am making a t-shirt that I'm thinking may only be fit for one of Gracie's teddy bears... Still, after I finish unpicking it and resewing it I think it will be not too bad for a first attempt :D

Today's positives:

1: Gracie and I watched Larry Boy and the Fib from outta space.

2: James said "Milk" this morning. He really is quite the chatter box.

3: Gracie, Daddy and James got out the duplo blocks and had lots of fun.

4: We got to skype with Grammy this afternoon.

5: Gracie grabbed her Daddy and made him dance with her. She even tried humming her own little tune as they danced. Super cute!

6: James had scrambled eggs for the first time and ate them all up. Definitely not like Gracie's first taste of eggs!

I am kicking my self for not writing down the other things I know happened but can't quite remember from today! Still. Pretty lovely day :)

Day 182: munch

Today's positives:

1: Gracie calls lunch "Munch"

2 James said "dog" for the first time today. I think because Matt, Gracie and I all said it. He didn't want to be left out!

3: We took the kids to the play ground. Gracie sat on the big kids swing. She also climbed up all sorts of things I thought she would be too young to tackle lol. She enjoyed seeing the ducks and kept shouting "BIRDS".

4: The kids have enjoyed playing with their cousins this afternoon.

5: Cousin A got James in his pj's. James seemed quite happy about this :)

Alrighty!

Day 181: Back in the saddle again!

Sooo it's been forever since I last got to post a blog. I have REALLY missed it. So much has happened.

James took his first few steps a few weeks ago. He is slow to repeat this progress but I have a feeling it maybe coming before thanksgiving. He now also knows the difference between Mama and Dada.

Gracie Jayne, can talk in complete and full sentences. I am no longer under any illusion as to what she wants/needs at all times!

We also found out last Friday, we are expecting baby number three. I am guessing baby will be born sometime in the beginning of July.

Exciting times!! Here's some things you guys missed :)

We had a lovely sleep over at Nana's. We spent two days hanging out with family, talking while the kiddos played together. James liked to push along a walking aid toy. He was so very proud of himself. Cousin L also practised crawling. It was a nice time.

We took the kids to the fall festival at Spruce Creek. Gracie loved running around with her big cousins. Both Gracie and James had their faces painted and ate lots of yummy treats. Even baby cousin L was dressed for the occasion as an adorable pumpkin.

James got to do his first painting, as we let the kids paint their pumpkins for Halloween!

We had such a fun Halloween. Unfortunately my camera was not working. Thankfully Auntie Shay managed to take some pictures, and even though I am sure she emailed them to me I am gonna have to search to find them. Gracie dressed up as a pirate and James was Batman. We took them to the local grocery store as they were handing out candy up and down the isles. James didn't make it very far in to the store before he started stuffing down a Reese's peanut butter cup.
After that we went over to Nana's house because she has the perfect neighborhood to trick or treat in!
James made it one round and then went back to Nana's to sleep. Gracie came out the second round. She had the right idea as she would sleep as we walked along, then as soon as we got to a house and the door opened she would pop her head up and grin. It was so fun, both the kids and the cousins made out like bandits on the candy front!

Once we took down the Halloween decorations we put up Christmas. I know it's super early but the kids had a wonderful time. Gracie refers to it as "the pretty" and James just looks at it and grins.
We have the tree on a table inside the play pen. Gracie can manage to climb in though.
Sometimes I will be searching for her and she will pop out from under the table and shout "YES MAMA". James still managed to pull it over from it's supposed safe guard of the playpen. It now has a slightly drunken looking lean but it's definitely been enjoyed!

Any way! Now we are caught up some (I may remember more to add later)

Here are, Today's positives:

1: We made hand print turkeys with Gracie. Although they look more like hand prints with sequins attached than turkeys. James also had fun doing some painting.

2: James has learned to climb up on Gracie's bed. We walked in the bedroom and there was sitting with a giant grin on his face.

3: Daddy took the kids to the playground. Gracie enjoyed the swing and the slide. James thought it was funny to watch his sister swing.

I think that's enough blogging for today! So glad to be back! (pictures below)
